VADA PAV street food RECIPE | How to make vada pav

Preparation Time:- 30 mins
Servings:- 5-6


INGREDIENTS:
For masala 
Cooking oil ½ cup
Mustard seeds/rai 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds/jeera 1 tbsp
Curry leaves/kadi Patta 10-15
Ginger garlic chilli paste 150 gm
Potatoes (boiled & mashed) 1 ½ kg
Turmeric powder/Haldi 1 tbsp
Asafoetida/hing ½ tsp
Salt as per taste 
Coriander leaves (chopped) ½ cup


For batter:
Gram flour/besan 1 kg
Baking soda 20 gm
Salt as per taste 
Water (mixing) 600 ml
Green chillies fried (serving)


METHOD:
For masala
Turn on flame and heat wok 
Add oil
Let it heat on high flame 
Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger garlic chilli paste, curry leaves 
Roast well
Add turmeric powder, salt, asafoetida 
Mix it
Add boiled & mashed potatoes, chopped coriander leaves 
Mix very well
Remove it
Make tikkis
Set aside 


For batter:
In a bowl,
Add gram flour, baking soda
Add little by little water & make a batter
Batter consistency should not be too thick


Dip tikkis in batter and deep fry for 2-5 mins or until done
In same oil fry, green chillies sprinkle with some salt
Serve with Vada pav


Serve hot.
